    Chloe :)

    Hi,

It ain't a real girl, it's a piccy of our Jack Russell

This is all METRIC and it works

This is the first real Lithophane that I have done on 6 mm Corian, Glacier White.

I have some adjusting to do yet, but the signs are good.

30 degree v-bit configured as a ball nose of .78

    Cheers,
    Bob

    Great job Bob!
    Now comes the bad news...
You will become addicted to cutting Lithophanes.
All your friends and relatives will want them.
Oh what a cross we bare when first we cut a Lithophane...

    Hi Bill,

I kind of figured that would be the case thats why I have got heaps of Corian now. Do you buy yours from a specific place, I told them I was disabled and I was using it as a medium for art. Does not seem to be a lot of users over here but I now have a good supplier of the stuff.

I only took a bit over 3 hours which was nice.

Thanks for the convertor, I have downloaded it.

I have almost got a LED backlight frame sorted, just waiting for another couple of piccy's from China then we should be on the road I hope.

    Cheers,
    Bob

I have got the CNC working again and my first cut was another of our dog with some different settings (mainly depth).

It is getting better all the time

Nice improvement, seems to have more shades of gray especially in the midrange. Keep up the good work!
Was your CNC machine down for improvements or repair?

    Hi Bill,

The driver board lost the chip for the Z-Axis. When I first got it from xylotex in the states the heat sinks off the y and the z axis had both fallen off so I just stuck them back on and thought nothing of it then. I would say that during a lithophane cut, they fell off again and the z axis chip overheated!

    She's all fixed now. $85

Another subject! the special lithophane backlight frames are still in China at present having the final design done now before I approve them. You have to be so careful when you deal with them, got to repeat things to have them understand EXACTLY what you want so that you really get what you want. Hopefully they will be worth the wait

    Cheers,
    Bob

    Hi,

My Special Lithophane Backlight Frames have finally arrived from China after a long time and a few submissions to see if they were okay for manufacture. The first couple were not!

The finally item was really good, check the avatar out (6 x 4 inch) photo of our dog

Take it easy, this is my only source of income and if you are looking for a special thing!!
    Cheers, Bob
