Lead in on an open vector not working

Has anyone else tried a lead in with a profile toolpath on an open vector? This doesn't work for me........

The help file says you can't have leads with open vectors.

It will work in the latest version (4.6), I think that they havn't updated the online help file.

The info is posted here, & you can view a pdf file here "What's New in VCarve Pro 4.6"

    Enhancements include:
    • Offset Open Vectors
    • Toolpath Visibility improvements
    • Profile Machining Enhancements
    • Pocket Machining Enhancements
    • Option to send toolpaths directly to Mach3
    • Automatic layer creation when importing multiple page PDF documents

Below are 2 screenshots, the first shows the lead in on an open vector, the second shows the open vector after it's been cut.

There's no leadin there, it just looks like it due to the viewing angle. If there was a leadin, you'd see it in the cut. I have 4.6 and it doesn't work.

I think the offset works OK, but no leadins.

    Ger21,
Your correct, I closed the vector, & it was really obvious when I added the same lead in/out.

    zcases,
I see you posted over at vectric, shouldn't take them long to fix.

Just in case anyone else needs help with this, Tony Mac did answer here.

    Gerry is spot on!

It's very difficult to determine which side of an open vector to lead from.

A work around is to draw the required lead shape on the end of the open vectors(s) then profile machine the complete shape.
