Hiya everybody! I just bought 4.0 today and I personally use it on a 16,000 lb. vmc. However, my problem becomes this, my buddy up the street has a Gerber Dimension 200 that only does 2.5D at the moment. How do we get it to converted over to G-code type operation instead of proprietary software that basically renders it useless on anything except very basic signage? We need to cut full 3D! I've been showing him Vectrics programs and he wants to buy it for his business but first we need to be able to get something out of it that we can cut on his machine. Is it going to require (excuse my lack of proper terminology,) a completely different system/hardware to be installed to run the motors? Is this where you get into needing Mach3 to convert G-codes into something useable in the motors? Any help would be greatly appreciated, he's a small shop and it's his families entire livelihood. So anything I can do to expand his business I'm going to do! Thanks everybody!

| Only if you already own 3.0 I guess but yeah, I have 4.0 on my computer right now, downloaded it a few hours ago.

Here is a post from the VCarve Forum: "Tony Mac Vectric Staff Joined: 30 Jul 2005 Posts: 751 Location: UK New post Posted: Sat Jun 23, 2007 5:04 am Reply with quote Tom, VCarve Pro 4.0 is being released over the weekend and you will receive the details shortly. The release information is being sent out based on the length of time customers have owned the software, which we feel is a fair method. We cannot release the upgrade to everyone in one go because the demand on the download servers would be too great. So we are 'staggering' the release messages > downloads otherwise the systems wouldn't cope. Tony" Hope this helps, Bill Schober |
