Very nice ![]() Can you tell me, how exact did you paint the wood? Because I'm having some problems with it. When I try to paint the picture, the paint covers only the natural wood texture, not the picture itself. The result is the same as without painting only in different color.

I found that with my photo carvings, the trick was to seal the entire surface with clear first before applying black paint. Once dry, sand the raised surfaces clean of paint. If you don't seal the surface first, the paint gets into the wood pores and is really hard to remove.

How do you seal the pores? What do you use for sealing? Today I tried to carve without sealing, here's the result: ![]() The wood texture realy worsens the quality if the carving.

You can use just about any clear sealer, as long as it's compatible with the paint you will put over it. My favorite is Minwax Polyacrylic since it is water cleanup and dries fast.

Nice Photo carve Work Greetings all. I was looking through the photocarve posts and was wondering what feeds, speeds, step over, and depth of cut y'all are using. I have tried a number of projects in PCarve on a number of materials, and my results are no where close to what y'all are acheiving, so I was wondering if I could get some pointers on what is optimum. Thanks. Jim

| about to buy I am about to purchase Photocarve. I have DeskCNC which does good for DXF but am not as impressed with it's engraving from jpgs. Is the software the solution? Or is Photocarve really superior? Any pointers?
