    Strange curves....

    Hi all,

I have an issue when opening this particular dxf file in Cut2D. Some of the letters/numbers seem to have extra lines/vectors added. The problem seems to mostly have something to do with the curves, although the "V" in "Live" is particularily weird.......

Opening the same file in Solidworks edrawings doesn't appear to have the same issue.

Thought I could just ungroup the vectors and delete the unwanted lines, but it won't let me. Guess I could just node-edit and delete the unwanted lines that way but I'd thought I'd ask some of you guru's first........

I'm relatively new to all this so any advice/comments appreciated.

    Hi Craig,

I would recommend Saving / Exporting the DXF as an older file version.

Most CAD packages will have options for DXF R12 or R14 and these
should give better results with correct circles.

Looking at the Text objects and these appear to be 3D DXF entities,
which results in the facets ( these are the lines inside the font) from
the 3D object being converted to 2D lines. Exporting just the open
fonts from your CAD package should fix this.

I hope this helps and please let me know if you have any further questions

    Tony
