    Pocketing Islands?

I was hoping to use Vcarve to create a pocket with a bunch of islands. I drew up my part in auto cad but can't seem to figure out how to select what gets cut and what is left behind when doing pockets. My searches are coming back negative

The part is a water cooling block similar to something like this:

In AutoCAD, make sure your pocket and islands are closed polylines. Then, in V Carve pro, select both the pocket and islands together. That's it.

You are correct, I believe the problem was due to the the spacing between the islands being almost exactly the same size as my tool. I just did a test increased the spacing a bit and boom it seems to be working. Thanks for the response, I knew had to be something simple

To cut the rubber gasket groove, select one line, hold the shift key down and select the other line. Then choose pocket and set cutting depth, tool bit, etc. Choose calculate, then save.

Second operation. Select the inner rubber gasket groove, hold down the shift key and select all 4 of the islands, plus the surrounding perimeter of the cut away area. Again choose pocket, depth, tool bit, etc. Calculate, save.

If it doesn't work, you have an open line somewhere. There will be an error message. Go back to the drawing portion of the program, enlarge the image and carefully find out where the gap is. Usually in a corner.
Highlight the two unjoined line and patch them.
There is a join lines command accessed with the right mouse button.
