V carve pro, can it do this

Hi, new to cnc, ive downloaded the trial version of v carve and i am so impressed but i would like to know if i can create a concave circular relief with it (like you would have on a wooden chair for your backside to sit in) and also tapered drainage grooves in worktops?. I dont want to buy it if it wont do everything i need it for.
    Thanks Andy

No, it doesn't really do 3D. You'd either need to model it in a 3D CAD or modeling program, and use Cut3D, or get Aspire, which would let you do it. Keep in mind that regardless of what software you used to do it, it's not a simple thing to do, and would probably take quite a bit of skill and practice to get it just right.

I believe the new Fluting feature in V5 can do the grooves.

    Hello Andy,

The fluting option in the latest version of VcarvePro enables doing a lot of things that were not possible with VcarvePro before. I have seen the fluting option used to carve spherical shapes like a billiard/pool ball cady and golf ball holders. I have used the fluting option to create toolpaths for a sword blade and the angled profile that tapers to a sharp point around a double sided blade. You should try using the fluting option in the trial version to see if you can create what you need. Ask here or on the forum if you need some help with it.
