Default 3D Roughing/Finish Tool Path Not A Smooth Edge V Carve Pro 8.5

Need a little input for rough edges.

Milling a fishing lure mold, materail .50 Delrin. My edges of lure are coming out rough. The bottom surface of lure is fine. I attached a photo which shows edge cut.

    My conditions and perimeters...

    3D Roughing- .1250 ball end mill, .0625 depth of cut, step over 0.0025 2% ,30 IPM ,Machine allowance (.02), Z level (Raster X), Profile-(Last)

3D Finish- .1250 ball end mill, .0625 depth of cut, step over 0.0013 ,40 IPM ,Raster (45 degree)

    Your thoughts are appercaited. Thanks.

Setup a machining boundary to restrain cutting just "to" , but not over the edge. Then use a 2d profile to cut the edges.

I cannot name a specific tutorial that pertains to this, but there are numerous threads on the Vectric forum that give both instruction and examples on how to accomplish exactly what you are looking for.

it will never be 100% smooth, you will have to do some manual finishing
