Question Making a New Vacuum Forming Machine

    Hi All,

I am planing to make a Vacuum Forming Machine and i was wondering what is the best setup for Vacuum Forming Machine to form plastic sheet type PVC, PETG, ABS size 24" X 24" and thickness about 6". What is the vacuum machine do i need? and what is the heating elements do I need too? and what type of heating elements to be used is it a ceramic heat element or infrared heat element ? and what is the best thermoforming heating control system to be used?

    Thank You

There are a good set of plans for a machine called a protoform (I think). I'd invest in those and look at build logs if available. My father built us one for our plastics shop and its certainly up to the task.

I agree, I purchased the protoform plans for a basis to a 4' x 8' build I did a couple of years back. It will save you a lot of time.....
