I have a Gerber Dimension 200.
The Y axis just hums and won't jog.
I switch the x and y axis cables on the control board and the problem moves to that axis.
I've had the board repaired and it worked for a while.
The machine was barely used in between the time the board came back and worked till now.
Anyhow , the board is out of repair warranty. So I'd like to troubleshoot it myself.
Maybe isolate the Y axis . Maybe see which components are the same that work in the other axis.
It may be the FET or some minor part. I'll post pics.
I've already spent a bunch of money on this machine. So converting to gecko or some other drive is out of the budget.
If anyone has parts left over or unused please send private message.
Also looking for any testing info on the board parts if I can't find a replacement.
I've replaced all the socket based IC chips.
I bought them on line cheap. Swapped them out one at a time .
Tested and nothing changed.
The center plug is the Y - axis .
The FETS if I am not mistaken are the the top row of heat sinks.
The center one is the Y-AXIS . I ordered those and will replace that one.
It could be one the caps or resistors.
I'm not an electrical engineer.
