Default Need advice about End Mill usage.

Could someone please be kind enough to share your experience regarding End Mill usage on a Foredom Flexible Shaft Power Tool handpiece.

I have 2 End Mills, both have 3mm shaft, 2 flute (cutting edge is also 3mm) and a 4 flute (cutting edge is 1mm) carbide End Mill and am planning to use it to mill copper rods.

The End Mill will be fixed on the handpiece and will be fixed on a Foredom Drill Press.

What is the recommended speed I should use.

Can I use speed of approximately 3000 RPM and manually feeding the rod which is clamped on a Proxxon mini vice, at a very slow feed rate.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

    Thank you.

3000 RPM should be fine for that small of EM, but for the 4 flute slow it down some. I would use two flute as much as possible and a cutting oil as apposed to coolant to aviod the tool from gummying/building up with material.
If you have chatter issues slow the RPM down and feed a little faster.
