Im looking for a rotary table for my RF-45 clone. Im a relative newbie to machining, but I am pretty sure I want an 8-10" table that is fairly light in weight, and is vertical and horizontal capable. I am trying to do this on the cheap ~$200-$300, and I am having a difficult time deciding what to buy. I know for sure that I dont want the HF tables as they have a reputation of being crap.
An 8" (and especially a 10") is a pretty huge lump to fit to an RF-45. Are you sure this isn't going to chew up your Z travel? I have a 6" rotary Table from Yuasa (taiwanese) which is pretty nice.
Phase II are decent quality. Not quite Yuasa, but close. They are way better than the "no-name" Asian tables. You can get good deals on Phase II from Enco or from a fellow on eBay named Kap Pullen. He is eBay seller "kapullen".
Be sure to get a table that will sit both horizontally and vertically. The horizontal only are cheaper, but you want to be able to sit the table either way.
Thanks for the reference Bob. You can find our e-bay store or visit our website which has just been added to the CNCZone links under Machinery, Tooling & On-line Stores. For your convenience you may visit us at GetMachiningTools.COM
