I may need to convert some .3ds files to machine parts. Is there a (free/trial) converter available?

Can you use .dxf"s? There are a lot of .3ds to .dxf converters for free. Also, you might want to look through this list. http://www.3dlinks.com/links.cfm?cat...bcategoryid=11
