CAM software for CNC Plasma Cutter

I am thinking about building my own cnc plasma cutter and have very limited experience with cnc machines. I've been looking around and I've seen alot of SheetCam software thats been talked about. I was wanting to know if/what other software there is that would compare in both price and quality to SheetCam? I'm just wanting to make a 4' X 4' plasma table.
