What is the best nesting software?
With CAM software it is always very debatable what software is best. Polls are pointless because all it tells us is what software has the most users and definitely not which is best for your business or purpose. But if we compare specific functionality we start to get a picture of what software is good at what task.
I'm looking for the best geometry nesting software out there. This might be a standalone application or part of CAM software.
Nesting, in its simplest form, aims to use the least materials with given part quantities, gap between parts and gap at edge of material.
So here is a simple test to start us off.
Use the following settings with the parts in the zip attached.
1. Gap between parts = 10mm
2. Gap between parts and edge of sheet = 10mm
3. Quantity of parts = 50 of each
4. Nested into 2440 x 1220 rectangles
All the rest of the settings can be set set to whatever gives the best material usage (rotation, pack to corner, and so on...).
