Hello RJengineering,
if you are talking about 2.5D milling then FILOU NC16 might be just what you are looking for. Have a look for yourself on www.filou-nc.com
Hello all!
This is my first post, as I've been a lurker for a few months now, but finally have a question that doesn't appear to already have been answered.
The Company I recently started working for is looking for some new software, and I'm hoping for some suggestions.
Currently, we are using Autocad (which our customers are sending us drawings with), and creating dxf files. Of those, some are being imported into smartcam, and some are being imported into Enroute, then out to any of 5+ cnc routers.
We are out-growing our current software.
We have attempted to have Enroute create a post so we can use all machines through it, and they failed.
most of our work is pretty simple 3 axis stuff (think countertops and tables).
Long story short, were looking for a CAD/CAM software that we can grow with, but not one that's crazy overbuilt for what we need. the most important part is the ability to aquire or edit our own post's for current and future machines.
Any Suggestions?
Thanks!

What models are your 5 routers?
Do you need a package that does nesting? Do you do cabinets?
If they are big industrial machines, with drill blocks, then I'd recommend a higher end package, like AlphaCAM or MasterCAM router.
Just about any CAM software allows you to write your own posts. The only issue may be that some are much easier to work with than others.

thanks for the input.
we do cabinets on occasion, but we dont use the nesting aspect very often.
we run 4 KOMO's, one Multicam, and 1 we had made for us that uses mach 4. wide array of capabilities. some have tool changers, some have drill blocks, others dont.
apparently enroute's are generated from the source code of the program, so only enroute can edit them.
