Is there anyone out there using Edgecam?
And why are the users of this software creating their component drawings in other packages such as Solidworks or Autocad then importing?
Is this down to what software they already know best or is it down to the cad side of Edgecam is not up to the job ?
Be real good if you guys can help so i know which way to turn.
I know EdgeCAM but would rather not pass comment on them as
I work for a competitior and of course I would be biased in what I say. I work for a company called Vero International Software and we have a product called VISI-Series which is a powerful ParaSolid Surface/Solid front end and an excellent 3D HSM CAM back end, with 13 3D machining routines and 17 2D.
I use edgecam and find it very useful and able to do anything I have wanted.
It is NOT a cad package, and not advertised to be one. It can do simple tasks, but for anything else, another cad package is better to use.
For lathe work, I have not seen a better package than edgecam. There are tons of software packages available for milling, all with advantages, and most probably good packages.
