i'm so lost!!!

hi all!

just finished building a UHU servo controller on a emmbeded electronics PCB.
powered up fine, got power and o.k leds on and i can communicate with it through the serial port. sounds good so far right?
when i use the dos and windows softwars, i cant get and encoder readings. i mean that the graph is not showing anything, just few words in german.
i can use the "G" command, but i cant send it to a position greater then the "E" parameter. i thought it was the encoder not connected, but when the motor is idle and i move the shaft, i get error led, so it seems to read the encoder... whats going on???
when the motor is enabled, i can feel it resists my attempts to move the shaft... can anyone help me on this one???

motor is a pittman with a BEI optical encoder - 1000 lpr, A,B,ground and VCC.
please help, i'm starting to loose hair here :-)

Thanks
liron

hello
you use g100 then after use minus to go to the other way exemple g-100
e should be greater than g if you make e5000 you may use g4800 then g-4800
g is only for trimming give a normal value of e when using in step/dir

Hello,

The G command uses no acceleration and bumps the motor instantly. This could easily error the chip. The graph is started with an "A" as I remember. If you can't drive it with the computer, check that you assigned the proper pins of the port for step and direction signals. Also the pulse width and the active state should be considered to make it spin right.

Give a little more info about your setup and your problems.

Greetings, Todor
