| My plans: -i want to use h-bridge from original uhu 160x100 board to drive high power motor ( 180Volt ,up to 16Amp ). - step & direction will be PWM UP & PWM down signals outputed from Pluto-P board and closed loop made in EMC Is this possible with original uhu board 70umm couper thick board or not ? | I don't think it is. IIRC correctly the problem (or one of them) is that the MOSFET drivers on the original UHU has a fixed deadtime (500nS?). This works fine with the specified MOSFETs and low(ish) voltage. But using "larger" MOSFETs and higher voltage the deadtime is too small so shoot-thru occurs, destroying the bridge. The fact that the original UHU doesn't do well at higher voltages is the reason the HP-UHU was designed. If you wan't a bare-bones H-bridge/PWM amplifier I suggest you look at the one samco is working on. He seems to have nailed it pretty good. |
