This thread will document the successful installation of HP UHU into service. For me it has been a tremendous success though a bit late bcos of the learning curve. Here is what I conclude : 1. have the right encoder cable (multistrand twisted pair shielded) 2. Have the right Powersupply (consider 10% + when deciding the voltage) 3. Use a resistor in series when using high rated power supplies for startup which get bypassed after a few seconds. 4. Get Big heat sinks and force cool them if necessary - or you will get drives faulting all the time. 5. Have a lot of patience IT SURE DOES WORK! rgds Irfan |

How's the customer base coming ? I'm moving forward, slowing. I'm trying to follow your example of doing things the right way, waiting on parts when that's required.
