Hi paul, I think you need to check the powersupply circuit as I did!

Irfan,
Have you had time to do anything further with the power supply modifications ?
My day was filled with honey doos, I'm hoping to work on my fourth drive tonight or tomorrow

value of parts in my power supply

Irfan & I were talking about the power supply I posted pictures of, the values are not shown on the parts list so I've done my best to identify the important ones.
1. two large silver capacitors - Sprague Extralytic 623D117 5000UF 200VDC mounted to the bus bars.
2. one blue capacitor - Sprague 36DE 24000UF 40VDC
3. one small blue capacitor Sprague 9039L 6300UF 40VDC
4. two 250ohm +- 5%15Watt power resistor (one on each of the blue caps)
5. two Thermister KCC CL-100
6. two bridge Rectifiers 9025 mexico MDA2508
7. one power resistor DALE rh-50 50w 1Kohm 3% 9036
8. two, Block 80 IXYS MOD 90-08N1
9. one Transformer, 250VA IPH
10. three 20Amp slow blow fuse
The rest are generic, nuts, bolts, etc
I wanted to add, the power supply has two voltage outputs, thats why the different voltage values on the caps. the large caps that total 10000UF are for the 134VDC. the smaller caps support the 25 vdc output.

Hello Paul;

Are you sure the transformer is only 250VA and not 2500 VA?

Thanks,

Kreutz.

Power Supply Transformer

kreutz,
the 250va could well be wrong, must everything else is either missing or wrong !
I've all but removed the transformer, only the wires are still connected and the only information on is:
Basler Electric
Highland,IL
BE 24502 001
A1541767
and a probable production number 9043
Your opinion/guess is better than mine, is there anyway to check the VA ?

I guess it is rated a lot more because a 250VA transformer will never deliver 130v 20amps without overheating.

I will try to get the specs from the manufacturer's website...

Regards,

Kreutz.

Hi Paul,
I'm not sure if you're talking about "my" powerdump circuit and schematic but if that IS the case then those caps will be fine for C4, C5 & C7 but NOT for C6 which is 100uF. But I think C5 is what you meant.

/Henrik.
