OK, we wanted a forum, so I'll get it started. This is a modeling question in NX5: Is there a way to split or divide a solid without losing it's parametrics? I know you can split them with a plane, a surface etc, but that requires you to choose which side to retain, you can't keep both. As far as I can tell, unless you have the mold or die package, you can't keep both parts and still keep the parametrics. The way we do this now, is to extract a copy of the model, split the original, keeping say, the left side, then split the copy, keeping the right side. Thoughts?

| I'm glad to hear NX6 will have the capability. We are getting Team Center Engineering 2005 in a couple weeks, so that we can run NX6. I can't wait to see what's new.

That's true for NX6, I tried it today. Not sure about NX5, I will check it out. |
