I am programing some milling ops. for a 5 axis mill. The material is 718 inco. Dia. is appx 8 inches My question is when I am roughing and have the C axis rotating is it better to rough on center of the C axis or off center? Attached is a screen shot. Thank You |

| You are better off to be off center - how much depends on the tool and the diameter your machining. Sandvik has a application guide called Turm Milling you can get from your sales rep that gives you some good data. They may have something on-line too.
