    rotary axis help

Please can anyone advise, I am trying to produce a rotary axis milled part by rotating the b axis and spiraling along the part in x. When I verify the path it looks great but when I post it I have x,y,z,b axis moves how can I stop the y axis moving so that the mc only moves in x,z,b axis? Thanks

Make sure the Tool axis is pointed away from the center of rotation and the Projection Vector is Toward the center of rotation. I will often use away from line for the tool axis and define a line thru the center of rotation. What are you using as the Drive geometry?

You may need to create a cylinder and use that as the drive geometry.

    Lock Axis

From the List of User Defiend events select Lock Axis
Enter the Axis you want to LOCK and the Plane of rotation
From your description you want to lock the Y axis and the rotation plane sounds like the ZY - this you may need to test

Post your program and see if this forces rotary motion.
