I started a new job today and the company uses NX7. I have extensive experience with MasterCam and Solidworks. Has any one had to make this transition? How hard was it? Are there any online tutorials available for NX? The boss has said he will send me on training, but only after my 3 months probation period. I need to get some work done before then. Any help would be greatly appreciated Cheers Craig |

| On-line training... This is excellent training, skill assessments, certification used by many companies: http://www.myigetit.com/ This transition is not easy without training! But once you are up to speed on NX you will love it, I think...

| Have been a user of this service for over 2 year's now, & still use it when I have a problem at night when no programmer's are around. Don't use it as much, but still depend on it. Good stuff. Regard's Harold |

Sorry. Should have been more specific. myigetit.com is the service I am refering about. Of course I have had a lot of problems solved here on this site, (cnc zone). Might take a couple of days for someone to get back to you. You can also go to Siemen's web site & get a web-key & access their forum's there. HTH. I started a new position about a month ago. There is definetly a learning curve when going to UG NX 7.5 from Mastercam X4. But it can be done. UG works great picking toolpaths from solids. The 2 programs are pretty close. The most frustrating part is knowing what to do but not knowing how to make NX do IT!!!!!!!!!!! Start slow.. |

| Should be more and more transition type training as people grow tired of Mastercrap. I wish more schools would pick up NX. How are you guys finding the stability of NX. Lots of bugs and work arounds like MC? John |

| There are many options for online and traditional training, but to get you started... there are several CAM tutorials installed with every NX installation. Change your role to cam express, then restart NX. In the resource bar, there is a browser tab, and you should see the CAM Express home page. At the bottom are 9 tutorials. I would go through them to get a feel for the workflow, what you do and don't have to do to get a tool path. When you're done, change your role back to NX Essentials or whatever you want. FYI in the next release, we are providing direct access to these, so you won't need to change roles.
