So I haven't had a chance to test this out yet (as I'm still getting my new electrical enclosure together, but what frequency can the pass through ports handle (ports 4 or 5)?
Just to pass along information, according to CNCDrive, direct port inputs are capped at 50KHZ for the UC300ETH.
So it appears that a 100PPR encoder (up to 10K RPM) should work fine on the UB1 after version 1.6 opto-isolated input since it can read 13.67KHZ. I just bought my board a few weeks ago, what is the current version you were selling then?

I recently upgraded my Romaxx WD1 with a UC300eth controller and a CNC4PC BOB. I?m using Mach3 and the move has been mostly plug and play…mostly. One of my favorite features on the WD1 is the front panel MPG but I haven?t managed to get that running. The control is the original differential out, 25ppr, optical MPG. BOB Inputs are port 1-13 and 15. The signals measure at 4.5V and .1V under input load. I can rotate the knob and watch the BOB LEDs blink through a quadrature cycle. Ditto for the UCC300 plugin monitor. The inputs are defined in Mach3 as MPG. I can jog the axes with keyboard control. The previous Mach3 settings tab shows the MPG1 count at 424. The new C94/UC300eth/Mach3 profile shows 6.15 million. One detent click on the MPG “jogs” 6.15 million steps. Has anyone set up a simple front panel MPG on the UC300eth in Mach3? It looks pretty quick under UCCNC but I?ve got work stacking up.
