Default Having problem starting UC100 - help needed

    Hi!

I have built several CNC machines based on Pentium type PC's in the past.

One of the PC's died and since LPT type machines are hard to come across noways - I opted for UC 100 based on good recommendations and little or no HW mods to my IO box would be needed.

    Original, bought directly from Hungary...

What I have is a 3 axis gantry type router and was running perfectly on previous, PC Pentium II and it run perfectly with 35kHz pulse train on Mach 3.
Now I have recomended PC for Mach3, with dedicated graphics card,

Win2K using UC100, using my config xml file (that worked well), of course I have read the manual and followed it...

I get reset, we get torque on the steppers, we hear something is pulsing - but no movement.

I have tried 25kHz up to 100kHz pulse trian (with resets of Mach 3)

Any suggestions where to look at to get the thing running?

    Many thanks!

    With kind regards,

    Matjaz

It might not work in Win2K.
The manual says XP or newer.

    Hi!

    I checked this manual:
    http://cncdrive.com/MC/UC100%20datas...rs%20guide.pdf
    it says (page 2):
Currently the automatic installer is working under the following operating systems:
    – Windows XP.
    – Windows 7. 32bit and 64bit versions.
    – Windows 8. 32bit and 64bit versions.
    – Windows 8.1. 32bit and 64bit versions.
    – Windows 10. 32bit and 64bit versions.

There a re two machines running on Win2K, one 3 axis, one 4 axis (rotary engraving), with Mach 3 and LPT...

    Mach3 says:
32-bit version of Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows Vista, or Windows 7 (64-bit versions will not work)

This last might be it... (overlooked it !)

Thanks for now - I will doublecheck tomorrow when I get to the workshop!

Mach3 works just fine on 64 bits Windows versions but not if you want parallel port.

I am using the UC300 and that works just fine. I am sure the UC100 works just as well.

I think you have a simple electrical problem. Maybe not literally simple, but it is not a windows 64 bit problem and also not a UC100 problem.

Good grief... Seriously??? Why would anyone still be using Win2K and expect it to work right with new software 17 years later?

Because it is a free surplus PC, processor power just fine for running Mach3, but not the new OS...

The oldest PC running one of my CNC is now having problem going to g-mail. I have to switch to HTML mode te even load the page :-)

But it is virus resistant ;-) Nobody does them for my PC anymore ...

    Cheers
