    No Ger it's not. Not sure what version I stop including instructions and relied on this thread for info, but this plugin certainly can use a facelift after I reviewed code, and when I find the time I will include. Sorry if causing you and troubles.

    Hi all.

    I am new here. I have Recently bought UCCNC and a UC300-ETH controler.
    I have the plugin installed and configured to the best of my knowledge.
    The VFD I have is a 7.5kw Huanyang GT series. (http://www.hy-electrical.com/BF/GT%2...s%20manual.PDF).
    When starting UCCNC, I get the message that the VFD is connected but I can’t start it.

    the menus In my VFD are different from the instructions that came with the plugin so I did my best to find the corresponding menus but maybe thats’s where I when wrong?

    What should be my next step for troubleshooting?

    First off... thanks for all the work you guys have put into this. I was about to declare victory tonight before I went in "M4" and started going backwards.

    So here's where I'm at.

    Got the VFD and spindle working in manual mode and so everything seems right from the VFD and spindle standpoint.

    I'm using the 2017 screenset and just updated to the latest UCCNC software (1.2047) and 2017 install today. That is working fine.

    Connected the RS485. Changed PD001 and PD002 to 2.

    Installed the HYPLUGIN (12) and checked the enable and call on startup boxes. Restarted UCCNC and configured the plugin per this thread. Restarted UCCNC. Also turned off all other plugins.

    Changed the RPM box to 2451 and missed the right place to save it off. M3 didn't turn on the spindle.

    Went back to the stock UCCNC profile and followed those instructions to configure the HYPLUGIN. After doing that UCCNC started crashing on startup.

    Went back to the 2017 screen and woo hoo.... M3 worked and the spindle turns on and off. Slider didn't work.

    Looked at the RPM block and it was still set to 870. Figured out I was using the wrong save settings. Had I read the tread a little slower... and all the way through.. I would have know this earlier

    Fired it up and RPM block was still at zero. Clicked on the slider bar and the RPM flashed to 6,000 and then UCCNC crashed. Reloaded and crashes every time.

    Turned the VFD off and UCCNC will run but as soon as I plug the VFD in and when it comes on UCCNC crashes.

    Tried the other RS485 adapter (bought 2 since they were cheap and seems that some have had problems with them) and still the same.

    I'm also probably the last person running a windows vista machine.... but it seems to work fine.

    I'm sure I've got something set wrong. Any idea on where to start would certainly be appreciated. It's late and I've learned to walk away and come back another day to prevent magic smoke from forming. Again.... thanks to all the effort that went into this plugin.

    When changing field from 870 to 2451 in screen edit after you press apply you need to click on File tab in screen edit and than press save screenset.

    Reason the slider is not working is because you are at minimum RPM setting at startup and the slider is at 100%, HY12 won't set a RPM lower than what you have min RPM set in configure. Just set a higher RPM using MDI and you will be good to go.

    You should be able to adjust slider settings in screen edit, click on slider and set min value to 0 and max value to 200%.

    Did that. Just took me a little bit to get it right.

    Right now UCCNC is crashing before I can set a value in the MDI if the VFD is on. It is crashing with or wtihout the 2017 screenset so I'm not sure where I went wrong. I'll trace back through my steps and see what I can find. Thanks for the reply.

    Delete the plugin which causes the crash. Make the settings. Move the plugin back.

    This mornings troubleshooting....

    I deleted and replaced the HYPLUGIN.dll If I don't call the plugin on startup UCCNC doesn't crash with the VFD on.

    With the VFD off then UCCNC works. S20000 in the MDI and the slider works with the RPM matching the slider position. Turn the VFD on and as soon as it comes up UCCNC crashes. I'm assuming the RPM is the commanded and not suppose to be a feedback from the VFD?

    If I change the RPM back to 870 then M3 works and UCCNC doesn't crash. Spindle turns on and off just fine. Slider doesn't work and MDI inputs are ignored. VFD was showing 20000 RPM.

    Change RPM back to 2451 and UCCNC crashes. If I don't call the plugin UCCNC works.

    Now I have to go to the airport and pick up the wife..... So close to this working

    What happens if the VFD is on before you start UCCNC?
    I've never tried powering the VFD after UCCNC was running, as the VFD and power supply for the UC300ETH are on the same main disconnect.

    Same thing.... If the VFD is already on UCCNC crashes as soon as it starts loading.

    Reading through and with your trouble shooting and post tells me your problem is within setting frequency(RPM).

    Reading your .pro will help me to try to determine where your trouble is.

    Hi Jim,

    Going through your pro file leaves me as confused as I was when reading your first post.
    One thing is for sure where the problem lies... sending frequency(RPM). All your post points to this.

    ""Call Startup" is where the plugin reads configure "Max HZ" and calculates frequency with max RPM. This is also where it checks for pulleys and adjust calculations. You have pulleys disabled so eliminates pulleys as the possible cause.

    You posted on/off (M3, M4, M5) works fine when call startup was unchecked but can't set RPM.(plugin not sending frequency) Also when you set RPM field back to 870 the crashing stops. That's because the plugin stop sending a frequency to VFD.

    My only suggestion at this point to help in the process of elimination is download "SpindleTalker". The HYplugin works similar to this free program and will help determine if your problems are with your Huanyang VFD/settings. Also there are plugins for the Huanyang VFD with Mach3 you can also test.

    Hi Jim,

    I hope you don't mind me replying to your PM here but this info could help others.

    I did suspect your problems were within VFD settings and why I suggested trying SpindleTalker. Yes, baud rate settings(PD164) in VFD must match settings in HY12 Plugin configure or vice versa. You must change setting in HY12 configure and RESTART otherwise it will continue using same settings.

    I will put out an updated HY14 to check this and give a window to avoid a crash. I did test this and didn't make my system crash, but just wouldn't work.

    The GT series VFD is the only Huanyang series that uses standard Modbus unlike others as far as I know. I've written another plugin "ModbusEZ" that will work for the GT series, this one won't work.

    There is no immediate need to update for latest UCCNC version 1.2103... HY12 works fine. Had problems with 1.2102 due to the .NET4 implemented but was fixed in newest UCCNC version. The only update needed for any older plugin is to compile with anyCPU and HY12 was. I only tested in demo mode but will test on machine today.
