I should have added that I'm using Windows 10 Pro, x64.
Glad you found it.
I have a wedding to go to today, so can't do anything until tomorrow anyway.
Thank you for details/help. Fortunately for me i was able to immediately determine last night what my very stupid problem was once I looked at code. The message box is in a static method being called from another class in static method. The connection window is the problem.
I test on Windows 8.1 64 bit with serial port monitor but disable window because that comp isn't connected to VFD, than bring to machine comp(win xp) and actually test how it functions. Surprisingly Windows XP 32 bit didn't care about this error and plugin worked perfectly. Once I forced messagebox window to display on win 8.1(it didn't) I was able to see the problem you're experiencing.
I'm off to work now and will clean this up and repost tonight when I get home.
Thanks for your help,
Dan

I did some checking and did do the PWM check box with apply and save again. Still no motion on the spindle.
I took some screen shots to see if that would help in the troubleshooting.
See attached PDF.
Thanks again for all of the help

As I said last night, version 1.00097 is broken. Try using the 95 or 96 versions.
When you start UCCNC, you should see a pop up window saying the VFD is connected. If you don't get this window, it won't work.

I installed 95 with no change.
Interesting, I wasn't aware of a pop-up. I am not getting any pop-up on startup of UCCNC. I am wondering if I should uninstall and reinstall everything.
Did you go into the plugin and reconfigure it:
In the plugin, when you click "Press for available Ports", does it find your port?
And are you clicking both the save port, and save settings (calibrate in older version)?
Then restart UCCNC.
Did you change the VFD settings as stated in the .txt file. There are 5 or 6 VFD settings that you have to change.
If you're not getting a popup window as soon as UCCNC starts, then the plugin is not setup right, or not communicating with the VFD.

Gerry,
When I configured the plugin earlier it did find the port when I clicked available ports. It matches what I expected to see. These were saved and then UCCNC restarted. I had also verified all of the pid settings outlined in the document with my VFD and everything was appropriate.

Bob
Hey Bhouin sorry for your troubles, all settings look good other than your using HY97 that I recently discovered had a problem thanks to you and ger21. I didn't get a chance to fix yet and you should use HY95 like ger21 suggested and is for now the latest recommended version.
Follow the step by step in setup instructions in HY95 zip file and you shouldn't have a problem.

Sorry missed this 1.
Since you posted in your background you were controlling your Huanyang VFD with a RS485 connection in Mach3 I'm assuming you have that setup correctly. I'm also assuming you're using a typical China spindle 400hz/24000 rpm by settings you posted.
What Huanyang plugin were you using for connection with Mach3? The Le royaume Huanyang plugin you had a choice for VFD address in the Huanyang VFD settings (PD163), this setting needs to be 1. Yes, you should get a "Connected" window on start up like ger21 already pointed out, make sure this window isn't buried behind other windows because the plugin won't start until you hit ok. If you close UCCNC you will never see this window.
Dan
.
Hi Gerry, would you mind if I emailed you HYPLUGIN with the connection window fixed?
I just cut a part and know it's working well but don't have your screenset loaded in machine comp yet, it has a old version of Win XP and plan on updating OP than will install, but didn't get around to it yet. I want to make sure all working good on that end.
Dan
Yeah, that's fine. Send it over and I'll go out and test it.
I'm going to create a new profile from scratch to make sure It's set up properly.

Thought I would provide an update. I am now up an running with the 95 plugin.
Somewhere between the last time I used my router and when I added the UC300ETH-5LPT and UCCNC my RS-485 converter died. I replaced that component and everything is working just fine.
Thanks,
Bob
Dan just sent me a new version to test, and I'm going out to the garage right now.

Thank you Ger, your testing was a tremendous help and you lead me to the root of the problem. Once neither window displayed it had to be in the initializing and where I found problem. Funny thing is I was reading an article/debate on best way to initialize variables, definition, constructor, or method. The constructor is what I use and in the pro's it showed a slight speed advantage and 1 of the cons is exactly what I did...lol
It all makes sense now why it worked on some comps and not others and had nothing to do with OS. You must have never set up your Ampfield in HY6 so this was never saved to the settings XML. Anyone who tried to use this new version would of problems, but it's why I didn't see it or anyone who tested hy6.
Dan
Hello All, I had the day off today so thought I'll take the opportunity to finally put this plugin behind me with this hopefully last update. I think I took this plugin as far as it could go with it's maximum stability, error checking, new features and instant response.
Minor bugs fixed:
1. Spindle override would allow rpm to go lower than rpm min setting and was fixed.
2. Using 2017 screenset slider for spindle override, if going back and forth quickly the rpm would sometimes prematurely set and was fixed. (Even though the only time doing that would be for testing )
3. The test version I uploaded for ger21 and others have downloaded had issues with the amp output and was rewritten and fixed.
4. Tried to make buttons more clear in the hyplugin configure window. I do strongly suggest reading setup instructions because 1 step missed plugin won't work.
5. In some cases when disabling plugin it would corrupt pro file fixed.
6. If you had Amps output disabled in HY97 the plugin wouldn't load was fixed.
New Features:
1. Output spindle/motor Amps. The Huanyang VFD outputs several types of info but this I found to be of use. You can monitor cutting load on spindle while cutting, the heavier cutting load the Amps will increase and can easily adjust with spindle and feedrate override. Since you're not able to see RPM decrease on cutting load I found this to be a nice feature to help fine tune saved toolpaths. This feature does require you to add a new field, what I did is just copied Sact field in screenset edit in UCCNC. It's in setup instructions enclosed with zip.
2. RPM ONLY. I added this due to a few request. If you check this box plugin sends no commands for cw/spindle on and ccw/spindle on and spindle off. This feature is used if you use other hardware for spindle on/off. It's in setup instructions enclosed with zip.

I bumped up the Video Ger21 made when testing, this plugin coupled with the 2017 screenset makes a great setup with the newest motion and controller software available.
Hello Dan
Thank you for all the hard work you have put into making this plugin.
I have been trying to get it working on my setup but am getting curious results.
I downloaded the latest plugin version from the post above and installed according to the instructions contained within.
All seemd to go well except I get a "VFD not responding" message.
The curious thing is that the plugin works. I can stop and start the spindle as well as set its speed no problem.
Every 8 seconds the "VFD is NOT responding" message returns and stops me from changing the spindle settings until I click it away.
As soon as I do the spindle changes to the speed I set and I can turn it on, off change speed again until the next 8 seconds passes and the message comes back.
I have tried several versions of UCCNC and created a new profile from scratch with the same results.
I then went and tried Version HY95 of your plugin and the problem is gone. I don't get the VFD is NOT Responding message but neither have I received a VFD is connected message which I read I should see.
I concluded that maybe UCCNC was not reading from the VFD but the VDF was seeing the commands from UCCNC.
I know there is 2 way communication between the VFD and the PC because Mach3's plugin can read settings from the VFD and pressing the stop key on the VFD is sent back which Estops Mach3.
I am using Windows XP so that might be the issue.
Any gentle prod in the right direction would be appreciated.
Cheers
Peter
