    Hello,

Mby some more competent person can help me out in this.

Followed to this thread from beginning and yesterday got all my parts - HY VFD and my 3KW spindle (300Hz/18000RPM), also got converter RS485.
Downloaded that DLL file "HY8" and set needed settings, everything works quite well so far.

Problem is with min and max speeds - as I don`t know actual min speed i set it on 6000 and max on 18000 to reach max speed on UCCNC i need to adjust it till 300% as 100% is 6000.
When I trying to set lower min speed through plugin settings like 5000rpm then when I adjust speed to 300% it reaching only 15000rpm instead of 18000.

I`m doing something wrong or it should be so or there is some specific internal settings in VFD for that?

I just would like to have that my spindle min speed is 4000rpm and max 18000rpm

    Thanks,
    Kaspars

You definitely shouldn't try to run spindle until you have your settings correct in VFD, you can fry spindle or worse... both

Did you set up your VFD with proper settings? Did you use MDI to set speed to 18000 rpm (S18000).

If you set RPM to 18000 and and its not running at 18000 than your settings are incorrect with the VFD, your min rpm setting in HY config won't do anything. If you don't have settings let me know and I'll post link.

You max rpm needs to be 18000 and your min at 6000 is fine unless you have a air cooled spindle than I suggest 8000

    Hi Kaspars,

what 3kW spindle motor do you have? (voltage, current rating)
Can you post these parameters of the VFD?

    PD003:
    PD004:
    PD005: PD008:
    PD006: PD009:
    PD007: PD010:
    PD011:
    PD041:
    PD070:
    PD071:
    PD072:
    PD073:
    PD141:
    PD142:
    PD143:
    PD144:
    PD145:

Do you read the RPM on the VFD display?
Assuming you have a 18000RPM Spindle motor (300Hz), for correct reading on the VFD, PD144 should be set to 3000. And PD143 (number of motor poles) most likely to 2.
    Thank you very much!

I just did some testing with the last version you posted (1.00099?).
I had UCCNC running for about 30 minutes. started and stopped the spindle maybe 25-30 times, and changed rpm probably 50 times, and no lockups.
    But.
I never got the message saying the VFD was connected. But it worked fine right from the first try.
I did restart UCCNC 2-3 times as well.

That's great, I disable the window when testing. This is the same test with connection test enabled.

Unless you change something else, I prefer to not get the window, so I'll keep the other version.

    Hi Dan

I have been testing your new plugins this morning with the complete opposite results as everyone else.
I am running windows XP service pack3 which might be the cause but I think I read that you had also tested it on XP.
HYTest2 when I push the spindle start the VFD goes into run as I can see by the VFD display change but the speed is 0
additional speed commands still leaves the speed as 0

I then tried HYTest3. It comes up with VFD is not connected and it doesn't start the spindle , or at least it doesn't start the VFD with 0 speed like Test2 version did.

I switch back to version 95 and it works again.

I am also having a problem with the 95 version
It concerns the changing of speeds. When I run through the speeds using the up and down buttons it intermittently misses a speed change and does 2 on the next change.
I know the instruction is sent to the VFD as I have a cable probe that lets me hear the data burst being sent.
I don't seem to have the same issue using the Mach3 plugin though and I wonder if the instruction is sent multiple times for reliability.
There is contineous communication on the Mach3 plugin.
It may be a noise issue so I am replacing the cable with a balanced screened cable and will do more testing on this.

Not sure why mine is behaving so wildly different from the others.

    Cheers
    Peter

Peter, did you click both the Save buttons in the plugin Config?
You need to save both the Port info, and the RPM/Frequency info.

I just retested making sure I didn't forget to click the save buttons and restarting as per the instructions.

HYTest2 as before sets the VFD to run but no speed is sent to the VFD
HYTest3 as before VFD is not connected message and nothing works.

I am using what looks like the same RS485 device as yours Gerry with the Profliic chipset. (I know there is a similar device that use a different chipset)
    Windows XP
    UCCNC 1.2037
Standard screenset (looking to get Gerry's 2017 set in the near future once I stop hemoraging money on this spindle project)

I am happy to do any tested needed to help out with this.

    Cheers

Hi Peter, yes my machine comp that my HY VFD is connected to is Win XP. This is some odd behaviour and has me baffled at the moment, it certainly sounds like a connection problem but working with hy95 is the baffling part.

Test3 has the connection test and all this does is send a command to VFD, and if no response you will receive a no connection window, it will not attempt to send any other commands until a response with HYTest3. Please go to your pro file in your UCCNC folder, at the bottom of the pro file you will see [HYPLUGIN] and all it's settings below, could you please post these to make sure settings are correct.

Also are you switching back and forth from Mach3 with the Le royaume d'eole Huanyang plugin and UCCNC? In my early stages of testing and I did that I sometimes got no response from VFD, I would have to shut everything down and reboot computer for my plugin to work with UCCNC, I often wondered if a thread was still running in background.

    Dan

What field is 2000 in [UserTextfields] and showing your min RPM? Did you change your spindle override field? This will definitely be your problem.

    Thanks Dan,

The field 20000 was the original feild number for Sact when I first installed the plugin 8.1 yesterday but changed it later on the 20050 for reasons I cannot explain.
I don't recall or know how to change my spindle overide field.

I will create a new file from scratch and see if I can get things working.
Let you know how I get on.

Also I don't know why but when I try to used Le royaume d'eole Huanyang plugin for monitoring and testing Hyplugin wouldn't work, I had to totally shut down comp (not restart) and VFD to get it working again.
