You need to go to screen edit and then click on the Sset field and confirm label number reads 869, then click on override field and confirm 233. You have a field #2000 that's showing your min rpm in pro file and your Sact field 20050, I'm fairly certain this is where your conflict is. If you want to make things simple reload UCCNC and make sure you change Sact field only to match HYplugin Sact settings.

Not having much luck
I have attached the new profile I have tested. It has nothing other than the VFD configuration on it using the HYTest2 plugin
I deleted UCCNC and deleted the UCCNC folder before reinstalling to make sure there was nothing there to corrupt it.
I also turned my PC off before installing.
I am getting the same results as before. when I push the spindle M3 button the VFD goes into run mode but the speed remains at 0.
entering S10000 does not change the speed on the VDF though Sset changes to 10000 Sact remains at 0 and so does the VFD.
As a final test to make sure i wasn't missing anything critical from my config since i did the minimun I dropped HY95 into plugins and restarted UCCNC.
The spindle started on command and I was able to set change speed no problem.
That is without changing any configuration at all on the plugin. Just opened UCCNC and press M3 button.

I found the override field at last. The % speed.
While I have blown away the install but I can tell you the override value was 100%.
I also confirmed on this setup the Sset is 869, The Override is 233 and the Sact is 20050
If it in anyway helps I have attached the screenset I am now using for thsi test.

Try this make sure you check settings in HYconfig and restart UCCNC twice and should work.

Gave it a try and it still fails.
The VFD goes into Run but the speed remains at 0.
I put my cable probe to the RS485 and listen and can hear the bursts of data.
There is a constant polling of data but when commands are send from UCCNC there is a definite difference to the sound I hear.
When it is in run mode and I enter a speed comand eg S10000 it doesn't sound like data is being sent from UCCNC.
I could be wrong on this but that is what it sounds like to me.
Since changing the HYTest2 profile with the 2 restarts didn't work I redid the test by created a fresh profile and went through the config process again just in case.
I also restarted the PC but with the same results.
I went through the VFD and rechecked it's settings. all are as you have in the document except PD0023 which I have set at 0 because I don't want the spindle to reverse.
A real head scratcher
I wonder if it could be a software version issue with the VFD?
Mine is version Ur 1.00 and is a 2.2kw VFD. (PD0181)
Is there any way of capturing the data sent out from the RS485 adapter?
A log file or similar.

like Gerry, I noticed (and kind of like it) that the communication confirmation window didn't pop up at start, using hytest2.
All works without any problems.
Do you think it is a good idea to only get a window just in case of a communication failure?
As far as I know, the window will pop up anyway, if the communication fails (VFD disconnected).

Hey Peter, there's quite a few things to check or I could change in plugin to see how your vfd responds but your problem is very inconsistent and I don't know in which direction to go. In your first post above you wrote new version plugin works well other than the no connection window pops up every 8 seconds.
I removed the polling connection test.
Now where we're at is the VFD starts on run command but not setting frequency. This gives me other ideas to look at but since it works in version 95 it eliminates that as being the possible cause for a solution. I thought for sure your problem was due to the unknown created field showing your RPM in the pro file and since you reloaded UCCNC has me lost. Rereading through post trying to make sense to come up with a solution I see you haven't tried or at least wrote shutting down VFD and restarting. I mentioned in one of my previous post I had to this to get my VFD to respond to the Hyplugin after switching back and forth from the Le royaume Mach3 plugin.

I hoped to find some wrong setting, but to me your settings do look right! No worries to smoke your spindle motor.
I'm a bit puzzled why your speed reading is too low by a exactly a factor of 3 (because that's the issue, right?).
You are sure you are setting the desired speed with say the command S18000 command on the MDI?
The Sset should then read 18000.
But to me it appears if the RPM of the spindle motor may actually match the display reading.
If you hear your spindle, can you estimate it runs 6000 or 18000RPM, when 18000RPM is set?
6000RPM sounds kind of calm on these spindels, and 18000RPM sounds kind of impressive.
This needs some more research, it must be something simple, really.
My spindle is a 1.5kW, not exactly the same. I have heard, some people had 4 motor poles on those 3kW spindles (PD143), but that would change the reading by just a factor of two.
Initially, your Sset will be set to low RPM (say 6000), and I have a feeling you didn't change the setting using the Sxxxxx command in the MDI lines (also use Enter)

You can check your speed by setting your VFD to read HZ.
Set your RPM to 18000 in UCCNC and VFD should read 300hz

It appears I have confused you but I have spent the evening trying to figure out what might be going on and I think I may have found something that may help get to the bottom of this issue.
It is probably best to disreard my previous posts and start fresh.
All my testing for this is based on the plugin HYTest2 since this is working ok for others here.
I am using an older laptop with windows XP SP3, running UCCNC version 1.2037 and a UC300ETH5LPT board.
I have repowered both the VFD and the PC before starting my tests.
I removed my ethernet cable to the UC300ETH5LPT board and start UCCNC which comes up in Demo mode.
I select the UC300ETH5LPT option and press continue.
UCCNC starts and after a second Sact changes from 0 to 6000 (the value Sset is set to 6000 with the overide at 100%)
I assume the value for Sact is being read from the VFD or somewhere else bacause it takes a second to update.
The VFD fires you and runs. (Woo Hoo)
I can change the speed using the override buttons or using S commands.
It works everytime I run UCCNC in demo mode.
I plug the ethernet cable back in and restart UCCNC
The software starts but the Sact remains at 0 even though nothing has changed in the setup.
When I push the spindle start button the VDF goes to run mode but the speed is 0
I cannot change the speed using either the override buttons or using S commands.

Is there a timing issue at play here?
It seems that communication is not being established between the VDF and the PC when the UC300 is plugged in.
I am wondering if having to deal with the UC300 is slowing the PC down.

What is specs of laptop and does it meet UCCNC requirements?
The minimal hardware requirements for the computer are as follows:
– CPU frequency: minimum 1.8 GHz (duo or dual core is recommended.)
– Graphics card: OpenGL 1.3 or higher compatible
– RAM: minimum 1GB for XP and 2GB for all other supported OS.
– Hard drive space: minimum 16GB
The neighbours probably think I'm crazy going out to the shed after midnight.
I checked theCPU usage and it peaks at 60% in both Demo and normal mode.
The Sact comes up before the spindle is started on my setup in Demo mode.
Most curious.
Is your RS485 a Prolific chiset or the CH340T chipset?
I might have to get my I7 out to the shed and give it a try to see if it works the same as yours or my XP machine.
