BobCadCam- Awesome Tutorial and Lathe Functionality

I don't Know why People getting problems in understanding BobcadCam software...Usually they having Crashing problems, some bugs...... I recently converted my 4th Axis to Lathe and was experimenting with Demo softwares available on Internet...I just downloaded the BobCAd Demo alongwith user manual and it was excellent as compared to other high costs softwares...

I worked on their demo software to check the Lathe functionality and its really very good experience... Very accurate G-code generation...very userfreindly and the user manual is very thorough and great...

I use AutoCad for my CAD drawings and when i imported the drawing in BobCadCam and follow the Lathe tutorial..it was really very good...

I saw many threads on CNCZONE bashing BobCadCam... May be they have some severe problems but my experience with demo is so far so good ...

    Thanks

P.S: I didn't cut single wooden piece on my lathe due to demo limitations but i think its a piece of cake...

    Red face

I enjoy using BobCadCam V23. If you want to know what trouble is, try previous versions. I originally purchased V22 and it had all kinds of hassels, but when I moved to V23, I believe all my problems were solved.

The learning path has been difficult though. All my drawings are completed in Google Sketchup and converted to DXF and then I use BobCadCam to generate the G-Code. The G-Code still needs editing and I haven't quite figured out how to edit the machine profiles to ensure V23 writes the G-Code my way. I discovered this after a few crashes on the machine. Fortunately I was awake and had my hand on the E-Stop button to start with.

Alex, just be patient they will call back and offer a lower price.
I was offered Bobart v23 pro and level 2 predator for half that amount.

Alex, call bobcad and tell them your a student wanting to learn cadcam. I got v23 mill and the training cds for $750 my buddy called and got the same deal for $500. i referred two other people. one of the two got lathe and mill pro with cds for 1495 and his friend got the pro version with cds for 1250. they good thing about bobcad is that they dont charge maintenace fees, no fees to post to your machines and they have a lot of free training on the website as well as the cds.

Where did you find the training manual and tutorial for lathe? Was it bundled with BobCAD or did you get it from somewhere else like their website?

    Smile Youtube has 'em all.

They have the full set of "BobCAD-CAM V24 Getting Started 1 of 15" through 15 of 15 on Youtube.
And they're all pretty good! Many of them apply to older versions (to some extent.)
They have a whole bunch for V23 too, but they seem to be all in Espanol.
