I just wanted to add that I am still using "G" code and a TI35 calculator faster than I can figure out how to use any of the cam programs I have. I have Powerstation 2000 for which i paid $1500.00 bucks for and have never used, tried to get help with no luck, just got bad mouthed real bad on a site that used to give me a lot of help. I also had version of Gibs that was given to me with the purchace of a milling center and the Gibs folks not far up the road from me gave me 3 days of traing for free, very nice folks there. All to no avail as when I returned from the training only to find out I have been given a stollen copy of Gibs and when my shop computor crashed I could not get it back up. But there 3 day class was all hands on with a computor set up just for each person in class. The last I have is Bob Cad that sorincnc gave me training on. Like I said before, I just gotta accept that I'm old I guess,,,,thanks for letting me rant,,,,,Chuck/Bubba

I dont agree, the older one gets you can still learn in my opinion it just takes more effort and concentration, with the the required background education .

Myself my grounding is purely mechanical engineering . As a result I am quite happy building the machine and most of the mechanics that go into it . What I have problems with are the electronics that control it and the software that drives it .Again I will come to grips with the electronics even if will end up with a pretty rudimentary knowledge.

For me the biggest problem is coming up with the best [the best bang for the buck] cad /cam combination . Everyone on this group seem to use different combinations with little discussion which and WHY are the best, which are compatable ,easyist to learn and most economical . Perhaps this is not the right venue, to pose these particular questions, but some where users have made choices and reasoned through these choices ,I in particular would like to see some discussion on the subject. I have just about managed to used Turbocad 6.5 so thats where I am ,basically in the dark.

Well maybe you have answered your own question. I don't think that age comes into it so much as attitude and being able to concentrate. If you are overly tired you will not be able to concentrate. I know what you mean I've been there. You have to find the solution yourself unfortunately. It may be time for a holiday especially if you have been burning the candle at both ends.

LOL, wow, here I just got done telling of near $10,000 bucks I've spent altogether in time, travel, 3 different products (of which I still cannot use) and all the extras for those products and you wanna tell me it's my "attitude" lmao, I'm about to splite a gut laughing cause doc if your not burning it at both ends and maybe a little in the middle your outta business these days. Man you are either living off your daddies dime or you work for the man and have never owned your own business,,,,,,lol,,,,,and you want me to take a "holiday" again LMAO I'd come back to a business GONE,,,,,Ok, I'm alright now,,,,,really guy, if you let your guard down just a little bit these days , you could loose a small business like mine real fast. I've found one of the biggest problems I have in being a "Good Ole Guy' is there is not that big of a demand for "Good Ole Guys" these days because of so much "Selfcenteredness" that seems to be running rampid in the world today!,,,, again sorry for the rant again,,,,lol,,,,now I'm confused,,,,,am I a frushtrated business owner or a male dear Abby,,,,,lmao,,,have a good day folks,,,,,

Well I finally decided to post what I have made with bobcad 24. In case you are wondering what it is, the assembly is an 80 shot rubber band gatling gun. All parts cut out on my CNC router except for the barrels. They are actually easier to do by hand. The handle is actually 2 pieces of 1/2 plywood glued together with a 1/2" vcarve (with a 1/2 round bit) on both of them so the 1/2" dowel rod is set in the hole that is produced.

Next project is a trigger guard to replace the plastic one (that is broken) on my snakecharmer.
