| If the enables are on, try switching the active high to active low. Also, I saw a KCAM setup screen at the stepperworld site which seems to indicate the active high/low is different for the Y axis than it is for the X and Z.

| The first time I went in and enabled the drives, I had it setup as 3/5/7 2/4/6 Now it's set as 2/4/6 3/5/7 so they are backwards. But when I first ran through it, I wasn't hitting " SET " before going to the next, so it was saving the pin positions, but not keeping the drives enabled. I noticed this after I went back in. So.... I should have it set as follows ( just so I'm sure that I am on the correct path) X = 3 step 2 dir 14 enable / Y = 5, 4 & 16 / Z = 7, 6 & 17 Also, I currently have the active set on all of them to " HIGH " I will set them to low. One thing that did catch my eye was after I made the changes both times, and restarted the ports, if I went under ALT + S at the bottom of the menu there is the option to Disable drives or Enable drives. I would think that if they are already enabled the option to enable them wouldn't be available to you...... Just an observation. Thanks for all your help Ger21, -art |

| Did you try switching the enables like I said in my last post? I don't have a stepperworld board, and there website has very little information to go on. If it worked with other software, then most likely you have some of the settings set wrong. Since noone else has replied to you, you might want to try the TurboCNC yahoo group, maybe someone there has a stepperworld board.

| Sometimes I'm such a zero on the scale.... You know I went in and set the step and dir pins, double-checked the enables... but suffered a severe blonde moment when it came to switching from Active high, to active low... My bad .... I'm going to have to change that tonight and see what I got. What a tease it is when you've got the entire machine all together wired & mechanically sound, but you can't see it work .... and you are " that " close. I'm sure everyone else out here has been there too, part of the learning curve I guess. I'm already reconfiguring things in my mind, I'm getting a couple of Plotters from some folks and I'm already seeing things on a larger scale, and the price is hard to beat.... * Free * which is fine for me.. Thanks Gerry, Art |

| You might also want to contact Stepperworld and see if they have any answers for you?

| !!! BINGO !!!! That was it, once I changed the Active High to Active Low, reset the ports, saved the config, Whalla!! Captain she's moving ..... I got so excited that I went right back into the axis config and unrealistically set the feed rate ridiculously high.... knowing I'd start stalling and missing steps, but it was such a nice sound to hear after playing every angle on this beast. Once I came to my senses, I set it back down to a more useable and feasible speed. Thanks many many times over Gerry ! Many chips to follow.... -Art |
