Okey. I just bought a jog wheel for my machine, and after setting it up and testing it, I noticed (as many other also have) that if you twist it too fast, it will start going the opposit direction. This is because of how the code is written. While TCNC is moving the axis, it doesnt check whats going on at the input. While I was playing around with it, I noticed that it was moving way more steps then it should. Whenever I twist the wheel 1 notch, it takes 4 steps. I set it to moving 0.002mm each notch, and it moves 0.008. This is because TCNC moves the axis when input A goes high, then it moves another step when B goes high, and again when A goes low, and last when B goes low. It should only move it one step when it sees A, goes high and then B. Or the other way around. I have tried messing around with the settings, but it just doesnt work. Now for my question. Is it worth buying the code and figuring this out myself or is there another way to solve this problem? Is it easy to learn pascal? |

| I know some about programming (took 1 week to learn assembler for PIC) and read a bit about pascal last night. Doesn't look too bad, but I just read that Dave (I believe thats his name) has started working on TCNC agains, so I will just wait and see what he comes up with. |
