Hey All: I want to have two seperate INI files for Turbocnc (one for high torque mode and one for half step mode)(htmode.ini and hsmode.ini) I need help with the dos cammand line. Instead of starting with my old default turbocnc.ini file wich went like this: c:\turbocnc>turbocnc I want to go c:\turbocnc>htmode to use my new configuration file but this gives me a file error. Any help would be appreciated I hope you can tell what the heck I'm talking about It's hard to explain. I'm running release 3.24 |

| Why don't you just copy the turbocnc program and rename the copied "turbocncHT" and then copy the .ini file, make the changes and rename the edited version to "turbocncHT" so you have two new files turbocncHT.ini and turbocncHT.exe along with turbocnc.exe and turbocnc.ini then when you want high torque just run turbocncHT Hope this helps, Tei

| Thanks for your response: I tryed renaming the file turbocncht, ini and got an error in turbocnc (turbocnc.ini not found). The docs say : If you have multiple machines or configurations, you can start TurboCNC with a command line parameter that specifies the name of the ini file to be used. For example, typing: turbocnc myfile.ini from the prompt will cause the program to read myfile instead of turbocnc.ini at startup and use it throughout the session for machine configuration editing. The file can have any name, as long as it has an ini extension and respects DOS's limitation of eight characters in a filename. The path is optional if it's in the same directory as turbocnc.exe. By default, the ini filename is the same as the executable - so if you rename turbocnc.exe to lathe.exe, the program will search for lathe.ini at startup instead of the usual filename. So I guess I will have to change the name of the executable as well. This section of the docs is confusing It says you can use any dos name then it says it must match the .exe name by default. Any idea how to change the default? |

| Yeah, just change the name of turbocnc. I think that turbocncht didn't work because it is more than 8 characters long. try naming the new .ini file "ht" and the executable to ht let me know what happens -Tei

| Thanks for your help Teilhardo: I ended up creating two seperate directorys with an .exe and ini in each. I'm sure there's a better way but I hate fooling around in DOS (because I don't know it well) Thanks for your help now on to the next challange, G03 very slow. |

| G3 (and G2) going very slow is a bug in the current version that some people experience. I believe it's fixed in Version 4( Not yet available). Gerry
