    cnc a shaper ?

Ok here is the deal I have a rockford shaper and planer and I`m looking at hooking up steppers to the cross feeds and the down feeds to steppers . but the part I need help with is what code do I use to make it only feed on the back stroke ?

I can hook up a simple switch to trip when it starts on the back stroke.

    Thanks

    Interesting project

I suppose you would use an M Function. The switch activation would give input to your controller to continue with the program.

Your gcode post processer could most likely be readily modified to add or insert the name of this M function between every G01 line.
First you get good, then you get fast. Then grouchiness sets in.
