| Tracing? I need to change the cutting path from "all over the place" to an efficient path. I understand that I can trace a drawing to do this? I do not see any trace in Turbocad v4. Help? Thanks, Joe Petro

| I'll just reply to my self... I found that Kcam doesn't work well for me as a DXF to G code converter. AceConverter does! I cuts parts in continous lines, instead of jumping all over the place like the Kcam did for me. Joe Petro

| Seems that I tried and paid for every inexpensive CAM software and CAD programs. I finally have a reliable and easy workflow. I use QuickCAD for layout and design($49)...convert to DXF ver12 and import it into CAMExpert. I use the layers in QuickCAD to use for order of cut and depth. I name them as: 01_rough cut 02_final cut 03_125pocket Import into CAMExpert and set each layer for depth of cut and generate code. CAMExpert is a simple program that I use just for toolpath and GCode converting...it has a couple of bugs that I adjust in Notepad. I paid $79 for CAMExpert about a year ago. http://www.ribbonsoft.com --CAMExpert http://usa.autodesk.com -QuckCAD Bill http://www.kingpano.com |
