touchscreen quits working

this started months ago, now it won't work at all
the touchscreen stops responding and wont work again till you re-boot the control
then it works a while and stops again
KTI boards shows up "missing" in startup most of the time, but acts the same wether its missing or passed
Started using a mouse all the time and now the mouse locks up
And the keyboard too!
I replaced the KTI board and it still shows up "missing" with the same problems
We had a local company charge us 2300 to take the whole touchscreen assy out of the control panel and try to fix but they bring it back 3 weeks later and nothings changed

this is VMC 4024 with siemens A2100 control

Might be loosing the 5VDC power supply (combo power supply usually AT or ATX). If the 5VDC gets low, processor and other low voltage devices start dropping out. Edge connectors in the rack cause this problem as well. Try re-seating the boards by pulling them out a little bit and re-insert them.

Yea, try re-seating the boards on the controller. I did this to one of my machines and it fixed all kinds of problems that were going on.

However I do have another machine with the KTI board not working. I was thinking it was the board, but maybe it's something else? I will have to swap it and with another machine and see.
