General Numeric (Fanuc) Spindle Drive info?

I am trying to find information on the spindle motor in my Tree 325 I have found part numbers that were close but none exact. The type is A06B-1002-B600 #2000 I would like to know if there is an encoder and if so how many pulses/rev it has.
Anyone have a suggestion where to look for a reasonably priced VFD?

Fanuc Spindle Motor

Nearly all early Fanuc AC spindle motors have a 256 tooth gear on the end. This is read by a quadrature sensor that generates a small AC signal riding on a 2.5 Volt DC signal. It is squared up inside the drive to produce 5 V square waves. The motor is a simple induction motor and runs around 200 volts at various frequencies. It should run quite well with a generic VFD, even without feedback (sensorless vector). The kicker is usually the orient system. It complicates everything.

Why change out the drive? Parts are out there.

That is exactly the info I was looking for.
At this time I have no idea if the drive works.
The problem is when my mill arrived last week the drive was damaged and had become detached from the cabinet - the plastic support structure is broken and I haven't found anyone who can supply a new one. I will call the folks at the link provided.

There is no obvious electrical damage. Since this mill is a budget operation I am trying to segregate all the systems to determine where "the" problem is. But since I am elec-trickery challenged it is a slow process. I want to reattach the vfd to see if I can get it to work but I'm not sure I know enough or have enough info to hook it up and get the system running.

My thought are to hook the power in via the power switch but this would deliver power to all systems. It may not be a problem but I have no idea what to expect. I am running a rotary phase converter.
How would I turn the spindle motor on? Currently the computer is not booting up so I couldn't start it with an M3 (?)
The kicker is usually the orient system. It complicates everything.
I am not familiar with the orient system, does it give angular position?

Fanuc Spindle Drive

Sorry, but we don't carry the yellow plastic frames for those, but Fanuc America does.

Any reason why you can't get the CNC up first, before starting the spindle?

Warren - I would like to get the servo drive working but my computer needs to work first. I have a Dynapath delta 20 and all I get is a couple of chinese characters on the top left of the screen. To me it seems like its not booting...? I've called Parts and Smarts for hints of what to do - I have cleaned contacts, looked at the boards for obvious damage and I know I have them in the correct slots. After that I have reached maximum competency,,,,,,,but I am open for a any suggestions. Plan is to send the controller to Parts and Smarts next week.

How critical are the frequencies? I have seen drives that max out at 400 Hz and others much higher How do I determine the requirements?
