Suggestions on setting up a pad for a Tree VMC 1050

I am going to be planning a small (13x24 or 30) addition to my new workshop that I am trying to finish up, but need some suggestions as to the best way to plan the floor. Has anyone spec'd out a floor for a machine shop? If so, I am looking for ideas how to pour it. Do I need to create a raised pad, or just making the floor thick enough (6-7" of 5000psi concrete would I think suffice?) would work? Do I need to put anchors into the concrete to attach the machine to? Also, does anyone know the minimum ceiling height this machine needs for full vertical extension? I thought I remember at least 12', but it's been a year since we had talked about it. Any thoughts and suggestions on these things would be appreciated.

    Thanks!

I'm new to the forum and just noticed this thread... I don't know if you still need an answer to this question, but I have some info. I have a 1995 tree 1050 also and you will need a bare minimun of 108". 12' would be great but you can get by with 108" with the cable carriers against the ceiling. As far as the concrete thickness i'm not sure. I was't the original owner of my shop.
    thanks, Lee
P.S. I've started a thread about my spindle drive problems please help if you have any info.

Thanks for the reply, and yes, I still do. That helps, at least I can get it into my main shop if I want to, but was hoping to get it into my new addition, and stop paying storage fees on it. Main shop has 6-7" floor, so that should I hope be sufficient, as it wouldn't be running in a production environment. Good luck on your question, hope you get a reply that helps you.
