Hi, My name is Ron and I have an opportunity to purchase a Tree 2UV mill along with a LeBlond Lathe. (I believe after researching it is a Regal) 15Ē x 58Ē (?)
First; I am trying to figure out what something like these would be worth. I do not know a year or where to find that info. (I'll save questions about the lathe for the proper thread but will generalize) They are fairly dirty (I will post pictures when I figure out how to) but I ran them through a number of functions and all seem to work well.
The Mill is in pretty decent shape but I am not too familiar with them so was only able to run it through a few functions. There was no manual to follow. The power feed on the table works smooth and quite (3 or 4 speeds both directions), the head sounds like the bearings are worn but Iím sure would work for a number of more years. (Are bearings available?) Tool changes seem cumbersome but Iím used to a Bridgeport. I did not attempt to use the quill power feed so I donít know if it functions. The belt is there and spins freely. Overall besides being very dirty all parts seem to function and are in place
A master machinist owned and used them into his 80ís before passing around last year, making precision pieces. I believe he took care of them and didnít abuse, but didnít clean them either. Lots of unknowns but he knew his way around them.
Any help would be truly appreciated. I would like to know approximate value if at all possible (looking at pictures would help I know) or the history of similar machines and what they go for: a good offer to make being fair to both parties. How available parts are? Looks as though the Lathe holds the most promise for parts and support, as I cannot find much of anything (except here) for the mill.
Thank you in advance for your time.
