    journeyman 330 dynapath s10

I have a tree journeyman 330, it has the dynapath s10 system on it and the peripheral board has a couple toasted chips, so I need to either get a new peripheral board or I was wondering if there is any advantage to installing a dynapath20 system, seems to be more of those units out there. Any ideas as to where I could find any of these parts? Thanks!

Hi Dave, according to Dynapath the S10 system had issues. The Delta 10/20 series
was a large improvement. If you upgrade, (as was explained to me) the DC I/O
interface board was designed (written) for the paramaters of each specific mill. My understanding is based on each mill having different travel limits, etc.

I'm chiming in a little late. I have that same machine. It would be very hard to find boards for it. However, I think someone on another forum mentioned that they had one of these controls that was parted out. I assume that someone upgraded the control, because the iron on the Tree mills always seems to outlast the electronics (as it is with most older iron).

Anyway, have you made any progress with it as of yet? I am wondering how your machine managed to toast chips. Usually, capacitors or resistors are the only things that go bad on the boards. Those are easy/cheap to replace. The chips are a different story. I think many of them are obsolete, so you'd have to do some looking around to find some. Regardless, you'd probably be much better off trying to repair the board as opposed to replacing it. Changing from a non-Delta up to a Delta probably wouldn't even be worth the effort. I don't even want to imagine what all would be involved for such an undertaking.

Nothing has happened with the machine, its sitting in the corner, and still, non operational. No one locally seams to be interested in buying the machine to either repair or retrofit and I am not capable enough myself to retrofit so the cost of parts and labour would make the job unpractical for my needs.
