    Tree 250 journeyman mods

Anyone out there done any mods to their 250? We are looking at bumping the spindle motor and rpm. Only spins 4k and looking for 8-10K. No one can really say if the bearings will overheat so hoping someone has done it. Mill is built like a tank so it should be good for some more pushin. Just need the Rs for small cutters in Al.

    Thanks

The drive assembly bearings are not rated for those kind of rpm's. Plus, the spindle motor is going to have issues trying to maintain that revolving mass at those rpms. You'd also have issues with belt slap, causing finish issues.
