Excessive way lube use on Tree 325

Anyone dealt with a similar problem? I'm having to clean up a small puddle of oil every morning and have to fill up the way lube weekly. This machine is only run for a few hours a day at most. Anyone know what could be causing this? Thanks!

Are you leaving the machine on?
    Where is the oil puddle?
Remember, this is a hardened and ground way machine, they use more oil. The oiler is adjustable, set screw in the plunger, however i don't recommend adjusting them.

You may have a broken flex line somewhere.

No, the machine is usually off overnight. The puddle is on the ground directly in front of the table. It seems to be dripping from the front of the Y way. I'll look for a cracked/broken line.

Sounds like the power to the Oiler is on. I am not sure how it was originally controlled because I removed the original controls but it has a normal 120v plug and I unplug mine when not in use. It would be easy to check to see if power is being delivered when the machine is off.

I think the oiler is delivering too much and I think it's getting worse. Now I get a few silver dollar sized puddles after running the machine for just a few hours. The oil is dripping right off the ways so I'm pretty sure it's not a cracked line.

How do I adjust the oiler?

Should never get worse, its just a plunger pump. What oil are you using? Did you switch brands? Adjustment is done on the pump itself.

Look on the plunger of the pump. can't remember if that one has a snap ring adjustment or a screw in the center of the plunger. Should be marked if you look close. If your not sure, take some pics and post here.

Part of the oil volume control is done by restrictors (metering device) in the manifold on the LHS under the table- sorry I can't recall the proper name. If you're having puddles in only some areas it may be possible that the restrictor is too big - possibly its location was changed some are bigger. Each one has a a number that relates to size or flowrate.

If the problem is too much oil everywhere it may be a pump adjustment.

I backed out the adjustment screw 3 turns and it did reduce the amount of spilled oil, but was still puddling. I put a switch on the power wire for the oil pump and turn it off whenever the machine is going to be sitting for a while. Problem is 90% solved at this point. Thanks!
