Hi all, I've been using Mastercam X4 to create programs for my J325. I've been just using the out-of-the-box dynapath machine def and posting dynapath conversational code. I'd like the post output to include the work offset (E01$). The way it works it you have to change the work offset number in the planes page to a number that corresponds to the work offset you want to output. For example 0 is E01$, 1 is E02$, 2 is E03$, etc. The problem is it doesnt seem to work if the number is 0, only 1,2,3,4 etc. Has anyone ran into this? |

| Here's my fix in case anyone else has the same problem. You have to edit the dynapath post processor. It's in your mastercam directory (C:\\mcamx\mill\posts\dynapath system_10_20...yadayada). If you add a line in the post processor in the "General Output Settings" section (with the other variable definitions) that says: prv_workofs$ : -1 then it will output E01$ at the beginning of the code as long as 0 is selected as the workoffset in the planes page of your operation or if its set to 0 in your wcs for the plane your using. oh and in case you dont know how that works, the default value in mastercam is -1. You can have any offset output if you change the value to the correspinding number of the work offset: -1 = no work offset 0 = E01$ 1 = E02$ 2 = E03$ 3 = E04$ on and on you get the picture. |

| thanks for the heads up on this. the tree is my back up machine, the hurco vmx42 is my main since it is newer and has tool/part probes. I have been contemplating only using the tree for uhmw/delrin till i can convince my boss to get a haas cnc router, since the plastic is always clogging up coolant lines. the tree i like to run dry most of the time. |
