who or what is 3 S

hello,
through out some post here i keep seeing mention of 3S and i notice a lot of components in the electrical cabinet of my j325 say 3S on them. i have googled it and can't seem to find it. so are they still in business??

S3 used to support Tree. It has been about a year since Eagle Machine Tool took over their inventory. I got in at the tail end of their existence so I am not aware of all that they did.

Eagle did not take over their inventory. There was an agreement between the companies to co-support many of the products as 3S was "sliding". Late in 2010 ZPS-CNC USA purchased the assets of 3S and is now supporting many of the TREE knee mill products also in addition the the only factory support for the ZPS built machining centers that were marketed by TREE.

The 3S phone number and website now both re-direct to ZPS
