Journeyman 425 help? Delta Tau controller

    Help,

Just hooked up a new (to me) Tree Journeyman 425 with a delta Tau controller. I built a CNC router, and understand Mach3, My stepper controller, and Gcode generating software.

I can power up the mill, power up the controller PC. But I'm not sure what programs I should be running. I've downloaded everything I could find on the Delta Tau Site, but I don't see anything right off the bat. It seems like I'm suffering from information overload. Is there something on this guy that is similar to mach3? Something that will show the status of everything, and then be able to load and execute Gcode.

Thanks For any and all help. Bob

Delta tau is not even remotely close to Mach 3. All the motion and plc programs are written by whomever did the install of the control. None I've ever worked on are user friendly, and we have delta tau on a lot of equipment. I went to delta tau training, and was mostly lost during the whole thing. I've been doing cnc control/repair since 1990, and can write fanuc ladder, retrofit etc.,

    Bob,

I'm in the process of putting a Delta tau UMAC on my Tree 425. I'm doing the final prep work on my shop right now. What Delta Tau hardware are you using? Are you using PMAC-NC Pro2? Have you used Pewin32 Pro2 to setup the motors, jog, and all that good stuff? The controller has to have a certain set of PLCs downloaded to it, one of which is a G code motion program that basically converts G code moves into Delta Tau motion commands.

I am very much a newbie when it comes to Delta Tau, but I was involved in writing a VB.NET application that is used as the user interface instead of PMAC-NC Pro2 at a former employer.
