| Imts.....wow! I just got home from IMTS, and man am I tired! I was extremely impressed, and have only seen part of it. It is most definitely worth the effort to go if any one here is close enough. I highly recomend it. Luckily, I live about 45 minutes away so I'm going to return on monday.

| This was my 2nd year myself. I guess being in the industry I didn't see anything to exciting myself, but I am not average either. I think being economy was down, the companies didn't invest much in development. It is still a good show to go see though. |

| ty The technology at the show is considerably different than I'm used to. I grew up in Gary, an area dominated by the heavy steel industry. Except for what you may find in the small machine shops in the area that support the mills, there just isn't a lot of cnc manufacturing up here. (At least not to me anyway.) I thought the show was put on well and offered a lot to see. I met a guy last night that works in one of the trades setting up shows in McCormick Place. He said the plastics show that comes there is pretty impressive too. I have to admit, there was one thing that kinda put a grin on my face though. There were a lot of machines set up and running in that place, but they were all so tiny. I'm used to machines that, when I'm standing on one end and my partner is standing on the other end of the same machine, we have to use radios to comunicate. Of course, I guess when you're working on the front of one of these machines and have to walk around to the back side to do something, it's not a 25 minute walk to go back around to the front to get what you forgot to take with you! ![]() The show was good though.

| I agree!!!! IMTS is incredible! That is where I first saw "real machining." WOW to say the least. It's coming back!!! For the hobbiest (like me) IMTS is jaw dropping. The Hass booth has machines cranking out parts. It is really an awesome show. IMTS 2006 September 6-13, 2006 McCormick Place Chicago, Illinois, USA http://www.imts.com/index.html taus
