    PCNC Spindle Light.

    Hi Guys

Just wanted to let you guys know about a great LED Light that I am using for a Spindle Light on my PCNC 1100. It fits over the nose of your Spindle and is held in place with three Wing Bolts. Will fit both the PCNC1100 & 770.
Comes with an On/Off Switch and 120 volt Power Supply.

You can purchase this Light from Princess Auto from March 27 to April 1 for $19.99 (Reg $29.99)
Search for either "Drill Press Light" or 8381113.

How do you rate the brightness of this light?

It just seems to come up as 29.99. What is the trick to make it 19.99?

    Willy,

Thanks for the tip. I've been thinking about spindle lights lately.

Can you post a picture of it installed? I'm wondering if it would interfere with an ATC.

    Hi Steve

I find this light works very well. Really brightens up the area under your Spindle. Unless your shop is very well illuminated, (not like mine) the addition of this light will be an improvement.

The Sale doesn't start until Tuesday March 27 and runs till April 1.

    Hi Frederic

Here are a couple pictures of the Princess Auto LED Light installed on my PCNC 1100. (Sorry the Lathe happened to be mounted) I don't have a Tool Changer but I don't think there would be any problems using this Light with one. Notice that I have shortened up the Wing Bolts so that they are not sticking out and getting in the way.

    Hi dbrija

Glad that you were able to get the LED Light at the sale price early. I have always found these Guys great to deal with.

    Willy,

Thanks for the pictures. I'm sorry to say, that is definitely incompatible with the ATC. This video shows the ATC operating, and you can see that it would share space with the light.

An ATC is on my wish list, so I'm going to have to live without the spindle light.

For $20, the spindle light would be awesome until you get the ATC! I just ordered the light myself. Actually, I bought three (drill press, bridgeport, and Tormach all could use better light)

That brings up a question I've got. The Duality lathe uses a tool post that attaches to the spindle nose. It looks like the 1/4" thick tool post clamping plate won't interfere with the light at all, which is good because removing that one is practically a sin, from a tool alignment standpoint. But it looks like it won't work with the 3/4" thick tool post clamping plate that serves as the mount for the tool post. That's not a big deal, I don't think, because it's intended to be removed when the Duality comes off the table. If you get a chance, can you confirm that you can leave the upper 1/4" thick tool post clamping plate in place and still install the spindle light?

    Thanks.

Forget about shipping cost. What you need to ask yourself is: is the total cost acceptable or not? If it said $34.95 with free shipping would you buy it.

If you're running a $10,000 machine then $20 or $35 is the same price for a device that adds functionality that you need.
